*This page lists activities developed in a unit for a West Virginia Studies Class. All of the materials here are based on the West Virginia Curriculum Standards and Objectives. This particular unit focuses on transportation in present-day West Virginia and how the development of various modes of transportation brought change to the "Mountain State."

Activity 1 helps to reinforce and introduce the vocabulary of the unit using an interactive power point activity.

Activities 2-4 are activities based on required reading from the class and the use of interactive Word documents to reinforce the material covered in the reading.

Activity 5 has the students create a word document that focuses on various modes of transportation and how they had an impact on the people and industry of the state.**

Activity 6 has the students review the material covered by incorporating an interactive Power Point document in the form of a Jeopardy game.

Activity 7 is a simple plan for assessing student knowledge
